PhD student at HELP at UBC Vancouver, MSc Health Sciences from Brock University Ontario. Maram is passionate about finding practical, feasible and accessible strategies for improving the wellbeing of Canadian children and adolescents. Maram hopes to engage with school boards to create a school environment that allows all youth to thrive.
She is a student at HELP and her main interests are minimizing inequity in childhood and finding protective factors to set children up for positive long-term trajectories despite sociodemographic disadvantages.
In her research projects so far as a graduate student, she has included stratified analysis by gender and ethnicity to explore the intersectionality of race and gender on academic outcomes for youth. She aspires to acknowledge and account for inequities in all her future work.
