Carly is a PhD candidate and research assistant at the School of Population and Public Health in the Faculty of Medicine at UBC. She earned her B.A. in Psychology at McGill University in 2013 and her M.A. in Social Psychology at UBC in 2016.
Carly studies youth mental health, access to mental health care, social determinants of health, and the health of marginalized populations. For her thesis she is using routinely collected health, immigration, and census information to estimate incidence of adolescent onset schizophrenia spectrum conditions in B.C., the distribution of these conditions in the population, and access to psychiatric care.
