Faculty of Medicine
Lea Separovic is a graduate student at the School of Population and Public Health, supervised by Dr. Anne Gadermann and Dr. Michael Kobor. Lea completed her BSc at UBC, focussing on human genetics, pathology, and neuroscience. Prior to starting her graduate studies, Lea worked as a project coordinator for a provincial pediatric mental health quality improvement project, and later as the research coordinator for Dr. Michael Kobor’s epigenetics laboratory and the Healthy Starts Research Theme at BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute. Lea is interested in the intersection between mental health, epigenetics, and the social determinants of health. She hopes to focus her graduate research on better understanding the ways in which a child’s social environment can become “biologically embedded” to impact later life outcomes.
