Dr. Danielle van Jaarsveld received her AB from Princeton University and a MS and PhD from the School of Industrial Relations, Cornell University. Her research interests include customer service, the development of the call center industry in Canada, and the changing nature of work, employment, and productivity in information technology (IT). She was recently appointed the Chair of B.C.’s Fair Wages Commission by the BC Ministry of Labour and in this role will conduct research and develop policy recommendations to be presented to the BC government to reconcile the gap between the minimum wage and the living wage to help improve support for lower income individuals and families.
