Sarah Dow-Fleisner

Dr. Sarah Dow-Fleisner is an assistant professor in the School of Social Work in the Faculty of Health and Social Development at the University of British Colombia – Okanagan. Dr. Dow-Fleisner has a PhD in social work from Boston College and a MA in child development with a clinical developmental psychology concentration from Tufts University. Broadly, her research focuses on successful adaptation in the context of adversity, with a focus on deconstructing the intergenerational transmission of mental illness and substance use. Her research integrates social work, developmental psychology, and public health traditions to generate a more holistic understanding of the pathways to resilience for high risk children and youth.
