Dr. Brenda Poon is an Assistant Professor at the Human Early Learning Partnership (HELP) in UBC’s School of Population & Public Health (SPPH) and also Research Division Lead at the Wavefront Centre for Communication Accessibility, a community-based non-profit organization. Brenda's research is focused on community-level social determinants of health. She has applied mixed methods and participatory action research designs in community- based settings to study collective community action to address health inequities and also differential service use for underserved populations from diverse ethnic, socioeconomic, and disability backgrounds.
